Grass-roots democracy &#038; development in Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On July 10<sup>th<\/sup>, Africa Research Institute hosted a panel discussion entitled \u201cParticipate! Grass-roots democracy &amp; development in Africa\u2019. The event marked the\u00a0launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/africaresearchinstitute.org\/wordpress\/publications\/participatory-budgeting-in-cameroon\/\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cThe Booklovers, The Mayors and The Citizens&#8221;<\/a>, a paper about grass-roots democracy in Cameroon\u2019s capital, Yaound\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>The event was opened by Jules Dumas Nguebou (The Society of Booklovers, Cameroon), who spoke about his work implementing participatory budgeting in Cameroon&#8217;s capital, Yaound\u00e9.
